Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Specialist
Konstantina Petropoulou is a physician specializing in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation with extensive and diverse professional experience. She is a graduate of the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (EKPA) and holds a Ph.D. from the University of Patras, with research on Neurogenic Bladder.
She completed further training at the University Rehabilitation Hospital, Hopital Raymond Poincaré in Paris, as a scholarship recipient of the College de Medecine des Hopitaux de Paris, specializing in the rehabilitation of neurological diseases and the management of dystonia and spasticity.
She served two terms as President of the Hellenic Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (EEFIA), where she contributed significantly to the development of rehabilitation science, education, and the organization of rehabilitation services. She participated in committees of the Ministry of Health and KESY, and is an elected member of the European Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. She holds the European Medical Specialty Title in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. She is the current president of the Department of Study and Rehabilitation of Patients with Neurological Diseases of EEFIA.
She worked as the Coordinating Director of the Second Clinic of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the National Rehabilitation Center, during which she trained a large number of physiatrists to full specialization. She holds the title of European Trainer from the European Board of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine.
Her scientific work includes organizing numerous conferences, seminars, and workshops. She regularly participates as a guest speaker at Greek and international events. She has numerous publications in Greek and international journals, and she is actively involved in clinical studies, writing books, contributing chapters, and teaching in postgraduate programs and to undergraduate medical students at EKPA.
Passionate about innovation, she focuses on the continuous improvement and development of new scientific data according to international rehabilitation guidelines, with the goal of achieving the physical and functional recovery of patients and their social and professional reintegration.
