Honoring World Book Day, Attica Center for Rehabilitation & Recovery hosted a beautiful event with the award-winning journalist & author Mr. Georgios Simpardis.
In Mr. Simpardis’ books, the human psyche and the hidden aspects of everyday life are uniquely highlighted, a fact that has been repeatedly recognized, earning the author numerous awards.
His literary work includes the novels: The Medium (1987), The Useless Dimitris (1998), Wedding Promise (2011), Great Women (2015), Siblings (2018), and Klathmona Square (2023), all published by Metaixmio Editions.
The novel Wedding Promise was honored in 2012 with the State Prize for Fiction, the Kostas and Eleni Uranis Award for Prose from the Academy of Athens, and the Fiction Award from the literary journal Klepsydra. The book Siblings was distinguished in 2019 with the Fiction Award from the literary journal O Anagnostis. Klathmonos Square won the Athens Prize for Literature from the literary journal Dekata, and in 2013, Mr. Simpardis was awarded the International Cavafy Prize.
His presence reminded us that books are not just words—they are bridges, sanctuaries, sparks that ignite something deep and true within us. Through his books, the characters become mirrors of ourselves, and their stories, whispers that stay with us.
