Following brain injuries (e.g., Stroke, Traumatic Brain Injury, Brain Tumor, Brain Hemorrhage, Brain Aneurysm, etc.) and in neurological conditions (e.g., Multiple Sclerosis, Epilepsy, Parkinson’s Disease, Dementia, etc.), cognitive deficits are often observed, ranging from mild to severe. Enhancing cognitive functions can significantly improve the rehabilitation outcome and the quality of life for patients. At the Attica Rehabilitation & Recovery Center, the Neuropsychology & Cognitive Rehabilitation Department is staffed by experienced Neuropsychologists and Clinical Psychologists. The Department’s mission is the accurate and reliable assessment of cognitive functions for both inpatients and outpatients, as well as the planning of their rehabilitation. Upon admission, patients undergo an initial cognitive assessment using the most appropriate psychometric tools. Based on the results, the need for further evaluation and the design of a personalized intensive cognitive rehabilitation program are determined. The Neuropsychology & Cognitive Rehabilitation Department is equipped with a wide array of psychometric tools and exercise materials for assessing and improving cognitive deficits. These include resources that train attention, memory, visuospatial perception, language, and executive functions. Additionally, the Department offers the REHACOM cognitive rehabilitation program, the world’s only comprehensive system for computer-based cognitive deficit rehabilitation.
