The first investment of the Papastergiou family in the field of health services dates back to 1998, with the operation of the Hippocratic Therapeutic Center, which has a capacity of 80 beds, in the city of Larissa, aimed at treating patients with mental health issues. Two years later, in 2000, the number of beds doubled, and in 2007, with a new expansion, the capacity increased to 237 beds. In 2013, an additional wing was built, bringing the current capacity to nearly 300 beds. In 2008, the Apollonio Rehabilitation and Recovery Center was established and began operations, with a capacity of 60 beds, in the Larissa region, aimed at treating patients with mobility issues of neurological or musculoskeletal origin. One year later, the number of beds increased, resulting in the Apollonio Rehabilitation and Recovery Center currently having a total of 188 beds, making it one of the most significant private rehabilitation and recovery centers nationwide. The continuation of investment activities was the Excellency Physiotherapy Centers, established in 2014, a day hospital for Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. In 2017, the Papastergiou family acquired and began operating a historic clinic in the Larissa region, founded in 1967 by Obstetrician-Gynecologist Christoforos Sotiriou, which was a model maternity center of its time. The General Clinic Apollonio – Theotokos is a boutique surgical and pathological clinic with a capacity of 36 beds, equipped with the most modern medical technology and staffed with well-trained medical and nursing personnel. The acquired expertise and experience in treating patients needing rehabilitation and recovery led to the decision to establish and operate the Attica Rehabilitation and Recovery Center, located in Magoula, Attica. In this new center, with a capacity of 300 beds and a total area of 15,000 square meters, the interdisciplinary team, which consists of a Rehabilitation Physician (Physiatrist), Neurologist, Internal Medicine Specialist, Intensivist, Cardiologist, Pulmonologist, Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Rehabilitation Nurse, Hydrotherapist, Speech Therapist, Clinical Psychologist – Neuropsychologist, Social Worker, Fitness Instructor, and Clinical Dietitian, guarantees safe, effective, and successful rehabilitation and recovery for both hospitalized patients and those receiving outpatient care.
