Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy, as a therapeutic science, is an integral part of the rehabilitation process for patients with mobility issues of neurological, musculoskeletal, cardiac, or other origins. Its primary aim is to improve the patient's functionality and mobility, ultimately facilitating their smooth social and professional reintegration.

Specialization, Personalization & Holistic Approach

At the Attica Rehabilitation & Recovery Center, physiotherapy programs are designed around three core principles: specialization, individualization, and a holistic approach. Each program is tailored by the Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Physician (Physiatrist) to the unique needs of each patient, taking into account the holistic management of their condition, and is implemented by specialized Physiotherapists.

Specialized Physiotherapists focus on:

  • Pain and spasticity management
  • Increasing and improving range of motion and muscle strength
  • Enhancing posture and balance
  • Gait retraining
  • General functional improvement of the patient

Specialized Therapies

Bobath (Neurodevelopmental Treatment)

Specialized mobilization techniques applied to bones, nerves, and muscles, performed entirely with the hands. This therapy aims to address the root cause of the dysfunction, not merely to alleviate symptoms.

Manual Therapy

Specialized mobilization techniques applied to bones, nerves, and muscles, performed entirely with the hands. This therapy aims to address the root cause of the dysfunction, not merely to alleviate symptoms.

P.N.F. (Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation)

A technique used to restore joint range of motion and improve muscle elasticity. Proven to enhance both active and passive range of motion, it effectively increases muscle mass and improves coordination, balance, and gait. P.N.F. is based on stimulating proprioceptive sensory receptors in muscles and tendons, aiming to enhance neuromuscular control and coordination.

McKenzie Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy® (MDT)

A comprehensive system for assessing and treating musculoskeletal issues in the spine and peripheral joints that cause acute or chronic pain. This approach involves individualized exercises, postures, mobilizations, and educational strategies, empowering patients to manage their condition both short- and long-term.

Mulligan Manual Therapy

A chiropractic technique combining passive joint mobilization with active patient movement (Mobilization With Movement-MWM).

Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapy

Strengthens respiratory muscles, promotes effective lung ventilation, and facilitates bronchial secretion drainage. It is indicated for acute and chronic respiratory conditions, postoperative recovery, neurological respiratory control disorders, chest deformities, and respiratory function issues caused by poor posture.
