Cognitive Rehabilitation Clinic

Cognitive functions are the cognitive abilities we need to perform any task, from the simplest to the most complex. These include perception, attention, language, memory, and executive functions.

Enhancement of Cognitive Functions

After brain injuries (e.g., Stroke, Traumatic Brain Injury, Brain Tumor, Cerebral Hemorrhage, Brain Aneurysm, etc.) and neurological diseases (e.g., Multiple Sclerosis, Epilepsy, Parkinson’s Disease, Dementia, etc.), cognitive deficits are often detected, ranging from mild to very severe. Enhancing cognitive functions can play a crucial role in improving the outcome of the rehabilitation process and the quality of life for patients.

At the Attica Center for Rehabilitation & Recovery, there is a Cognitive Rehabilitation Clinic staffed by a Neurologist, as well as experienced Neuropsychologists and Clinical Psychologists. The team’s goal is to provide accurate and reliable assessment of cognitive functions for both inpatient and outpatient individuals, and to design their rehabilitation plans.

Upon admission of patients to the Attica Center for Rehabilitation & Recovery, an initial cognitive assessment is performed using the most appropriate psychometric tools. Based on the results, the need for further cognitive evaluation is determined, and a personalized, intensive cognitive rehabilitation program is designed.

REHACOM

A wide range of psychometric tools and exercise materials are available to the staff of the Cognitive Rehabilitation Clinic for assessing and enhancing the cognitive deficits of patients. These include materials for practicing attention, memory, visuospatial perception, language, and executive functions, as well as the REHACOM cognitive rehabilitation program, which is the only globally integrated system for cognitive deficit rehabilitation using a computer.
